Development Studies is partnering with a consortium of other South African Universities and the EU under the auspices of EUSA_ID to improve cooperation in Higher Education in the area of Development Studies. The first call for applications is now open.
EUSA_ID
is a mobility programme offering study, training and research periods
in Europe for South African Master and PhD candidates and staff and
provides European PhD candidates the opportunity to spend a research
period in South Africa.
The partnership is coordinated by Ruhr-University Bochum (Germany).
The co-coordinator on the South African side is the University of the
Western Cape (UWC). Overall the consortium consists of 6 South African
and 7 European Higher Education Institutions and shares the expertise in
complementary thematic fields related to Development Studies which has
been chosen as common umbrella.
The first call at the beginning of 2014 saw two of ours Masters
students, Nomonde Mbhele and Mnqobi Njoko, being accepted for a
degree-seeking mobility at Ruhr University, Bochum, Germany and
