Making the Most of Commodities Programme/Hewlett Foundation – Infrastructure, mining and linkages in Tanzania’s Central Development Corridor [X Research ARCHIVE] Print

This project is funded by the Hewlett Foundation and being carried out under the auspices of the Making the Most of Commodities Project (http://commodities.open.ac.uk/mmcp) which is in turn funded by the IDRC.  Glen Robbins and Dave Perkins are collaborating, under the guidance of Professor Mike Morris of the Centre for Social Science Research at UCT, in exploring the degree to which the recent boom in commodity investment in Tanzania has enabled infrastructure investment which has in turn supported greater productive linkages between domestic SMEs and FDI mining firms.  The project is due for completion in 2011.
