Aim: To examine the development dilemmas in South Africa. Description: Considerable attention is given to specific areas, such as: international competitiveness;industrialisation and industrial policy; agriculture; land reform and rural development; small businessdevelopment; urbanisation; poverty; regional economic development. Students work through case studies,address real-world problems, and situate South African development issues in the context of recent international and national controversies about solving development problems.
